The greatest gift you can ever receive is the free gift of salvation from Jesus Christ!

Necessary Steps to Salvation

Step 1: Acknowledge
You must acknowledge that you are a sinner in the light of God’s word. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23. “God be merciful to me a sinner,” Luke 18:13.

Step 2: Believe
Believe in the finished work of Christ. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” John 3:16. “That if thou shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,” Romans 10:9.

Step 3: Confess

Confess to God. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness,” I John 1:9.  “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10

Step 4: Repent

You must see the awfulness of sin and then repent of it. “...but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3  “repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” Acts 3:19

To repent means to ask forgiveness for and turn away from. The four stages of repentance are:
Stage 1) to feel sorry for your sins; have an emotional change (Ps. 51:1,2).
Stage 2) to recognize sin for what it is and turn back or away from it; have an intellectual change (2 Cor. 7:10)
Stage 3) to have a change of mind and will (James 1:14, Romans 12:2)
Stage 4) to have a change of your spiritual condition to a new creature, from sin to godliness (2 Cor. 5:17, Phil. 2:5)

Step 5: Receive
In order for you to experience the new birth, Christ must be received personally into your heart by faith.  To receive means to accept in your hear and life. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12

Step 6: Be Cleansed
The blood of Jesus cleanses you from all sin.  “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his son, cleanseth us from all sin.” I John 1:7.

Step 7: Forsake
Feeling sorry for sin is not enough in itself.  You must want to turn away from sin once and for all.
“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:7

With the understanding of these seven steps, you can pray to God, right now, to receive his free gift of salvation. Following is a simple but effective prayer to help guide you, but speak to God from your heart.

Father,

I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins. I repent for every wrong thing that I have done and I ask you to forgive me.  I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. In Romans 10:9 of your Holy Word, you promised that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in my heart that God has raised him from the dead, I shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart, that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. I receive Christ into my heart and I thank you for the precious blood of Jesus that is cleansing me right now from all my sins. Thank you Jesus for dying for me, shedding your blood on Calvary to cleanse me from all my sins, and giving me eternal life. Thank you for coming into my life to be my Lord and Savior and saving me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
