What do
you think of when you hear the word
power? Often the word generates a mental
image of strength and might. You may
think of control or authority. The power
associated with the gospel of Jesus
Christ is all of those things. But the
most significant aspect of the power
that is inherent in the gospel of Jesus
Christ is “the ability to act or produce
an effect.” That is what our ministry
here in Long Branch, NJ is all about,
winning souls, preaching and teaching
the Word of God to produce an effect in
the lives of those who receive it (John
1:12)
Let’s look at a few
examples from the
scriptures:
-
John 3:16 and Romans 5:8
speak of the power of
God’s love that made a
way of salvation for us.
-
II Corinthians 5:17, 18
speaks of the ability of
the power of Christ to
make you a new creature
and make all things new
in your life.
-
Isaiah 53:3-5 speaks of
the power of Christ’s
sacrifice to bring
salvation to the lost,
healing to the sick,
peace to the beleaguered
and emotional wholeness
to the unstable.
-
II Corinthians 2:14
speaks of the power of
God to cause you to
overcome and succeed in
every situation.
-
Ephesians 3:20 speaks
of the power of God that
can do exceeding
abundantly above all
that we ask or even
think.
The Power of Christ’s
gospel is awesome!
Our prayer for you is
that you would accept
Jesus Christ as your
Saviour and Lord by
giving him the power
(control and authority)
over your life. Then,
allow his power
(strength and might) to
work on every aspect of
your life and you will
experience the power
(ability to act or
produce an effect) of
the gospel of Jesus
Christ in your life!
